A drawing machine in the manner of Leonardo’s notebooks. Water from a flume turns a wheel, a rope carries the turn to a train of wooden gears, and the gears work an arm whose quill draws the PINOVA pine, then the floridaHired home page, on a sheet that rolls on between drawings. Four notes in the margins name the studio’s principles: flexible, durable, evergreen, rooted.
